We have one cat living with us. He's very social and cuddly. But I've stopped scratching his belly when he's lying down like this:

He had scratched and bitten my hand one too many times. But he's still really cute. 

Stewart's Island

Sorry for not updating lately! I've been on Stewart's Island since I left Invercargill. It's been great! I've seen a wild dolphins, a wild kiwi and lots of other birds. There are lots of nice daywalks around Oban. I've done all of them by now, but it's still nice to get out and about. The sunny days are nice and warm.

Invercargill

Yesterday I came to Invercargill. But I'm already leaving. This afternoon I'm taking the ferry to Stewart's Island!

The Catlins

I spent more than a week wwoofing in the Catlins. It was a relaxing time with a bit of sightseeing mixed in. One of my jobs was to feed the baby goat.Cute! 

 My host also had two fat cats, two dogs and several annoying puppies. The puppies were too big to be cute, but to small to be well behaved. One of them tried to eat my merino T-shirt. But it's Ok, it was already very worn out and aimed for the bin sooner or later.

I've been thinking about what makes Catlins special. The green hills are pretty and the cold rainforests with wild waterfalls are nice too. But that can be found on other places in New Zealand. I think it's the coastline that made it special to me. Beautiful beaches, rocks and cliffs and strange things like Jack's blowhole.

In Owaka someone has created a very special garden.

Purakanui falls

The day before yesterday my host took me to Purakanui falls. Not a particularly big waterfall. But beautiful and surrounded by native forest. The moist from the waterfall really made it feel like rainforest.
